IV. Mandatory signs

Driving is permitted only in the directions indicated by arrows on the signs. Signs 4.1.1–4.1.6 do not apply to route vehicles. Signs 4.1.1–4.1.6 apply to the intersection of roadways before which the sign is placed. When placed at the start of a road section, sign 4.1.1 applies up to the nearest intersection. The sign does not prohibit right turns into courtyards and other areas adjacent to the road.

When there is snow or ice on the roadway surface, trucks and buses with a maximum permitted mass over 3.5 t may travel only with snow chains fitted to at least two driving wheels. Sign 4.9.1 applies from the place where it is installed up to sign 4.9.2. Sign 4.9.1 is used with plate 8.5.8. As an advance sign, 4.9.1 may be used with plate 8.1.1.
